Three gold medals at the World Beer Cup
The Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel has won gold three times at the World Beer Cup, honored as the world’s best dark beer.
With over 8,000 entries from more than 60 countries, this is the world’s most fiercely contested beer competition, awarded every two years in the United States. In total, Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel alone has won six medals there over the past 15 years.

Triple victory at the European Beer Star
The European Beer Star awards are considered the ‘Champions League’ of the international brewing world.
A jury of over 100 international brewing experts has already awarded the traditional Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock three gold medals at the European Beer Star. The spotlight also shines on Weltenburger Anno 1050 Märzen, which has claimed a place on the winners’ podium three times as well.
Over 50 gold medals
Weltenburger also makes headlines nationally: At the quality assessment by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), Weltenburger beers shine with top awards.
Brewers consider the DLG test to be the toughest, strictest, and most comprehensive beer evaluation of the world. So far, Weltenburger beers have received more than 70 DLG medals, including 50 golds. In July 2020, the Weltenburger brewers were awarded the DLG silver medal for Anno 1050 and DLG gold medals for Barock Dunkel and Weltenburger Hell!
